The best FL2 is the SD4.

As a biased owner I agree the Sd4 with its 190hp is the best engine but they are all automatic as standard. Persuade her to at least test drive one. My wife always maintained that she didn't like and wouldn't drive an auto. Seems to manage ok anytime she drives mine 🤔 Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

What ever motor you buy 2nd hand there is always going to be a certain amount of crossing fingers, just have some rainy day money ready in case. |

Although I own the petrol 3.2 i6, if I had to choose, I'd go for the Sd4. After many years of trying to buy mine off me, I found my brother an Sd4 Sport LE which despite his reservations having only driven manual vehicles most of his life, he now says he'd never go back to a manual vehicle.

Another thumbs up for sd4 HSE. Owned for 7 yrs and now on 120k miles. This my 4th Freelander and 7th Landrover..all automatic. Haven’t had manual since 1976. |

Bit more than 60 miles away but Rommel has one that ticks all your boxes in the for sale section 👍 |
