Davanti Tyres, although they are made in Britain, it is quite hard to find a retailer.

They do seem to do FL2 sizes and would make an interesting alternative.

Be wary to get an All Season Highway/All Terrain, as their 'low noise' tread patterns have few (grippy) cross block snipes.

The other positive about alloy wheel ‘take offs’ is they usually have OEM Landrover top spec tyres.

Probably not many compared to the total. Most accidents are caused by the stupid and the irresponsible, and where fatalities are involved the stupidly irresponsible. Jules

I’d think that almost any price new tyre with sufficient tread would be better than even an expensive brand tyre that has been kept on the road for too long!

I’m getting close to needing a full set on mine and if I’ve still got it when I replace them it will be getting budgets on it . It’s nearly 15 years old and I only potter about in it ,tyre technology has moved on massively and all tyres have to meet certain standards now, if I had a high performance sports car and drove round like Lewis Hamilton would go high end but if you shop around you can find budgets with good wet ratings ..

Just fitted some Continental Crosscontacts to mine. Very pleased with them (not been in the wet with them yet-no rain ) So much quieter than the G/Y Wranglers they replaced. £109 each fitted and balanced from my local indy garage. MY 2013 SD GS Auto

Worst tyres I ever had on the FL2 were the Avon ZX7 - utter garbage. Currently on Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 for summer and a set of Nankang SV-2 winter tyres . Very pleased with the Goodyears and the Nankangs have been are outstanding in terms of price, wear and grip.


Just bought another pair of Nexen 14” summer tyres for our little i10 'city' car - sidewall damage to one front tyre (again) and at 2.9mm at best on both fronts and an MoT test later this month… not worth faffing around with.

Again, these Nexens - fitted as OEM are generally good for the money in terms of wear and wet weather performance.

Yes, would be logical as worn tyres have lost vibration absorbing rubber.

Im only on my 2nd set of tyres for the FL2 but I do remember the OEM Continentals getting noisy towards the end of their life. Still have the unused original spare in the boot. Jules

My employer has always fitted mid to budget tyres to my company van and to be honest I’ve not noticed much difference in the last 10 years between any tyre that has been fitted.

The brand names are usually very similar to the premium brands 😂
