Freeland 2 broken down

Hi

Would appreciate advice on my 2012 Freelander 2. I broke down this weekend, car lost power and had to pull over. Tried to restart no luck, left it for a few minutes and was able to start 10 mins down the road the same thing happened again. I called roadside assistance and when they arrived an hour later they couldnt find anything wrong with the car. I had it recovered to a non Range Rover garage (my brother in law is the manager so was doing me a favour) they have run diagnostics and it has come up with 2 main error codes B100A - 15 Fuel Pump Authorisation. Open circuit or short circuit and B108B - 23 Start Button Circuit A -signal blocked. I have also been advised the is a oil leak which looks to be a rear crank seal problem.

I have been advised to take to a Land Rover specialist but concerned how much this will cost. Does anyone know all of these problems are related and how much it will cost to repair

P.S. Car had recently been serviced including new oil and air filter, also left the interior light on and had a flat battery (not sure if related but thought I would mention)

Thanks in advance

You can totally ignore the B100A Fault, it is thought to be a firmware bug

These engines are sensitive to fuel filter blockages or poor aftermarket filters. That you were able to restart then it happened again a short time later and a recent service would have me looking there.

You must have a correct Filter. see Alex's explanation on this thread.

I take it that the Fuel Filter has been changed during service? FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

Don't worry about the oil leak. assuming it is nothing more than a drip every few days, All FL2's seem to have that.

Mine doesn't leak any oil at 130k.

OP.
There's no real need to take it to a Land Rover specialist, as a vast majority of the vehicle is Ford Mondeo. The engine is for sure, the gearbox is a normal gearbox, with an LR part stuck on the output for the rear drive, but it's no different in operation to the PTU of a Ford Kuga.
Electronic diagnostics is a bit more advanced, but your issues would seem to be mechanical in nature, so any decent garage could do the work. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

I know this doesn't help your immediate situation but i always use genuine LR filters.
I recently paid around £80 for fuel, oil, air pollen filter (all genuine) and fitted myself so saved loads Very Happy
