an pipe under engine

Just need some advice, i was doing an oil change yesterday and i was doing a bit of cleaning of dust and dry grease as well as the oil thats leaking but dont know where from, and i noticed this thin metal pipe with what appears to be a flexible or what was left of a flexible rubber pipe on the end. It comes from just under what i can see is the air filter box near the bulkhead and travels down to the front axle where the rubber flexible hose looks likes its perished.
I cant find where it was fixed onto, and it goes up to just under the air filter box with another flexible hose on the other end but thats also not attached to anything?
Any ideas please

A complete guess but could it perhaps be a breather pipe from the PTU?
I think there is one that goes from the top of the PTU at the gearbox end and ends up near/on the bulkhead above/behind the clutch bellhousing? FL2 2007 2.2d Auto SE. Baltic Blue.

Ok further investigation i managed to locate the pipe and pull it free from a pipe it was clamped to.

This is the offending article, anybody know where this pipes onto?

It is shown on pages 1499 and 1512 of the workshop manual as given by Alex in this thread for downloading.

(although it's not too obvious what it connects to, it does show the position)

Now i wonder if this is where the oil is leaking from that is dropping onto the pan under the engine?

The PTU shouldn't have enough oil in it for it to come out the breather. However it does need to be refitted, if you can work out how it fits correctly. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

ill have to try and work it out, i may have to use an eyecrometer or a fingcrometer to feel where it actually fits into, i have purchased some new rubber 6mm fuel pipe to replace the perished rubber parts and reinstall the breather pipe.

I now have another issue with it, and that is she went into reduced restricted engine performance mode again, this time its Turbo solenoid too low so had a painful journey back home with that.

I wont hijack my own thread ill set up a new thread on that one though
