Turbo problem, performance reduced and weird sound | |
Hello everyone!
Just minutes after buying my 2007 Freelander, I was driving my dad's 2008 Freelander on the highway, ~110km/h, ~2300rpm, constant speed. Suddenly I heard a sound like a blow-off valve and the rpm dropped at 1900. 5 seconds after pressing slow on acceleration, it did it again then I pulled off the road.
The car didn't display any error nor did the Autel AP200. Switched cars with my dad and driving behind him there has no smoke at all, but the car is fitted with DPF. The car made it home, driving 300km at speeds of 70-80km/h under 2000rpm, but it accelerated very very slowly.
The next day, it did enter Engine Performance Reduced mode and Autel showed me a turbo overboost error (I don't have access to the car right now, my bad I didn't screenshot the error).
Is this a problem related to the turbo hose? For me it acted like after reaching a certain pressure, something opened and released all of it.
The car is scheduled for service, but I'd like some opinions.
