Trailer control unit

Hi
I just fitted a tow bar and trailer wiring that came with it.

Used genuine landrover tow bar, electrics and loom.

Fitted the fuse in the boot fuse box.

I get power to the plug going to the unit but nothing after that.

I have an autel that tells me, not trailer control unit fitted.

What do I need to do now to get the trailer sockets working?

Thanks

IIRC there are 3 versions of the genuine tow loom. The first one required coding by the Dealership. Later ones became easier to install and the very latest one was totally plug n play. Jules

Trailer loom update

Hi

I've the trailer loom partly working, I had installed the 15 amp fuse but didn't know I needed the 40 amp as well.

Now as far as I can tell it think its in an LR2 / US spec.

No amber indicators but flashes the brake light as emergency flashers.

Side lights and brake lights work but don't operate as indicators.

Can the dealer tell the box its European or do I need another box.

Thanks

I see yours is an 07 model. That will definitely need coding to get the tow bar lights working correctly. Dealer or LR specialist. Not sure whether the Autel can do it.

Thanks

I've spent time at it this evening

Pics attached

Plug out wire colour's don't match trailer socket.

Wired new trailer socket on car to rule out bad connections

The red wire out of the box operates the brake lights, with the left indicator on the brake lights flash.

The green wire has continuity to correct pin on trailer socket but is not on the correct pin on box plug.

It still looks like its trying to operate as US system maybe box can be programmed either way.
