Straight off , I will say it’s not a substitute for anyone wanting an SUV , it doesn’t ride like a Fl2 , and it doesn’t corner like my Subaru . I doubt it would make a good vehicle for a one car family . However it makes me smile and if I don’t get on there’ll be no financial loss . Already I can see the load space just swallows up the gear that I use for my hobbies . Despite CG’s sage words of doom ( which I’ve happily taken on board since 2011 and still not shot myself ) I doubt it will cause me more grief than the LR products I owned over 25 years . 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership 2016 Subaru Outback SE 2.0 diesel SE Premium Lineartronic Sold 2024 after 8 years and 80k miles . Would make a good caravan tow car for me but don't need the load bay. Fancied an Amarok but again pointless for my needs. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

We mostly sleep in the car, couldn't be stuffed putting up the tent. More so that the car is insulated & we have power at hand & can reach the fridge on the passenger seat. So for us its going to have to be an SUV. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

The un-revealed part of my master plan is that once the bed gets the Gearmate drawer system , my new partner in Life Mk2 , will be worked upon until she gives in and I buy a nice little working cocker ,( I’ve even chosen a name and preferred colour ) then a travel cage will go in the back . My idea of sleeping under the stars is looking at the number of them engraved on a hotel nameplate . If God had meant me to rough it he wouldn’t have given me a credit card . Fair play if you like that sort of thing , but I’m more about rolling into the bar after a days fishing or shooting and seeing what’s on the menu ! 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

If you train the cocker well you won't have any time left or the inclination for all the other stuff in your dream. I warn you working cockers are addictive substances you will need another and another and another |

If you’re going to take the plunge , can I recommend the spray in bed liner to you . It’s brilliant , a substance called Line-X , get it sprayed as under rail then the rails receive a Venture Shield strip for the top to sit on . The finish leaves the bed as hose out , totally sealed , non slip , very rugged , miles better than a moulded liner that can trap things and scratch the bed with vibration . I know lead times have been reduced now . The BASC discount is unbeatable . You will actually pay Toyota Fleet directly , not the Dealer . 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership
