Spent 30 minutes on the phone this morning getting a quote for my Freelander 2 and was very happy with the service I received. The guy on the phone was very professional and we soon got through the questions. I've generally jumped from 1 insurance company to another from year to year but have been with Sheilas' Wheels for the past couple of years as they have been very competitive. Seeing as I've modified the freelander a little, I thought I'd give A-Plan a try.

Me (33) and my partner (27) insured on the car fully comp, green laning and offroading cover, modifications included in the policy, £620 for the year including motor legal protection. The 3 major comparison sites were quoting me between 800 to 900 quid. I'd certainly recommend anyone to give them a call if your insurance is due.

My Scooby is Insured with A plan , my Freelander was insured with A plan , and I’ve had a quote last month for a new vehicle which unfortunately hasn’t arrived on time . They are good , not the lowest cost in every case but the fact that you talk to real people is worth paying a few quid for above a comparison site . Im,e with Cornmarket insurance through the IAM and very pleased with there service. Always talk one to one with a advisor and because i do comparison sites at renewal time, they always match my lowest qoute. Last years policy with full no claims and bonus protection for me and the wife came in at £300 including full breakdown cover. Ps, we have just turned 70.

Used to be with A Plan for many years the company was Ageas. but their prices increased for no reason to the point where it was cheaper for me to go with NFU.

I would like to know what excess people have especially those quoting lower premiums

My excess is £250. Never paid anymore than this for many years.
