Quite frankly the Freelander looks better than all of the over cooked cars today.

United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Auto Zermatt Silver

Interesting that you should say that , I was in a major brand dealership last week , despite price tags between £25000 - 35000 everything in the showroom looked plastic , cheap and uninspiring . Too much emphasis on ‘ tech on the dash ‘ . The salesman knew less about the cars than I did , but then his job is selling finance not specifications.

I currently think the new Defender 110 is one of the best looking vehicles on the road , but a large number of variants can’t even be ordered . 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 SE Auto Firenze Red

Im in Oz at the moment and came across the Ford Territory SUV.

Looks like a slightly larger FL2 with a bit of Evoque thrown in and addresses the FL2's small boot space issue.

On the face of it, it looks to be a good replacement for the FL2 ie built by Ford and not too gimmicky or grandiiose . I know nothing more about them but maybe our Aussie friends can shed some light on this vehicle.

Obviously its not available in the UK - that would be far too easy.

Its a lot bigger than a Kuga Jules

It looks like you may need to buy yours there, and drive it back. (well spotted)

It seems to be an Australia only produced car.

Australia 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 SE Auto Ipanema Sand

Ford Australia emasculated the Tezza by only offering it in 4 litre petrol form. Great engine but terribly thirsty.

They realised they needed to fix the engine that was in it so introduced the ... the ... 4 litre petrol turbo. Confused

When the writing was on the wall for Ford - then they brought out the diesel. Too little too late.

But I don't recall seeing any that look like your pic.

My father still owns a 2006-ish Territory.

I had a couple of Falcons with the 4 litre Barra. Ironically that engine would fit very well in my 62 Falcon. MY11 SD4 SE Auto

High praise for our Freelanders, in same article with cars as diverse as Bristols and Jensen Interceptors, who'd have thought it? Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

That Ford has the look of a Honda (HR-V or CR-V?) about it, sloping bonnet, side lines

Just wondering if the Freelander pictures with Charles is one of the two armoured versions run by his late father, one of which he turned over in the accident at Sandringham. Perhaps the weight of the armour made it more prone to overturning? FL2 SD4 XS 2013 Orkney Grey
