United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Stornoway Grey
What A great Car - But now I need to sell her

Have just completed a round trip of around 1400 miles in a week, Took the family down to the french Alps for a snowboarding holiday.

The freelander 2 was an epic car, did not miss a beat, and when it came to the long climbs up the windy roads she took it in her stride. And when the roads became icy, she loved it. Unlike my brother in laws car that just could not get up the final road to the appartment.

Each morning we loaded the car with our kit, stacked the boards on the roof and with 1 touch of the start button we were off.

Now lets talk about costs -
I gave her a service before we went - new air filter and oil change.
MPG - the cars onboard computer says 39.9, and this is a combined motorway driving and the running around up and down between the chalet and the slopes.

So why do I need to sell her?? well we as a family have just out grown the car. My son is now 6ft 2" and there is not quite the room in the back for him, when i'm sat in the passenger seat I need to push the seat back and this is crushing his legs.
We have had so many great trips with this car, dragged the caravan down to France last year and countless trips down to Cornwall. This has been without doubt the best car I have ever owned.

So whats next - as I only use my car for big trips and towing the caravan I need a car with AWD and plenty of room in the rear for my growing kids.
SO am thinking of a 2015 XC90, or a VW touareg.https://www.freel2.com/gallery/albums/userpics/23628/thumb_IMG_5333.JPG

Lastly if anyone is interested in a 2007 manual with 117K then let me know.

We have a similar sized teenager, he would sit behind my wife in the passenger seat as she doesn't need her chair so far back.
Concur with all the Freelander's abilities described by the op. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

A few years back I had three large teenagers on the backseat of a large estate cpmpany car. There was constant bickering about elbows etc. The car had a problem and while it was off the road we were offered a people carrier. So my wife went to collect it and came back saying that for the first time in ages no one was arguing. My next car was a Ford Galaxy, we took two of the seats out and ran it as a five seater which was brilliant.
Jeremy Clarkson once said that "there comes a time in a man's life when he knows that he has to buy a people carrier" So very true! 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto
Now Discovery Sport P250 MHEV SE
