Washer bottle leakin

Hi New to the Freelander 2 and this forum and having bought a Freelander 2 today got it home and checked the fluids on,y to find when I topped the washer bottle up fluid was just pouring out from somewhere.
Now just wondered is this a common fault and if so do I need to remove the bumper to replace the bottle and finally best place to buy one from.
Cheers

Not aware of the issue. Yes bumper off & one of the site sponsors. They provide Tuesday to Friday delivery to Australia if you read my comment, so maybe even quicker for local delivery. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Leaking washer bottles are not common. Could something just be disconnected ? Jules

Just discovered a few days ago that some of the accordion section of my washer filler has split. Near the top though, so not a problem at this stage.

The first time getting the bumper off is horrid due to a couple of well-hidden bolts on each side. A quarter inch drive ratchet, short extension and ten mm socket are the go - after three times or so you just know where they go by feel. MY11 SD4 SE Auto

You can't top the washer bottle right up to the cap. There's an overflow/ breather pipe at the bottom of the filler neck. This is there to ensure that sufficient air can enter the bottle to prevent headlamp washer motor causing a vacuum inside the bottle. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

I know mine has a split, most likely near the base of the neck, I just do partial fills (guestimates).

The end of the breather is only slightly below the height of the filler cap. I used to fill with water to the top of the neck, then top off with glass cleaner meant I wasn’t guessing how much cleaner I was adding.
But I’m not going to die on that hill, it’s not that big a deal. I hope the OP doesn’t have a broken reservoir, or can weld the plastic together if so. Simple solutions! MY11 SD4 SE Auto

Ha found the fault, there was a big hole in the side of it with 2inches of tree branch poking out.

Anyway new washer bottle and filler neck now fitted and I can tick that job off the list.
