Where has this come from.

Doing an oil change yesterday I found this on the cross member under and rear of the engine.

It's about 3" inches across and rubber. Anyone any ideas?

It's the drain hopper from under the wiper scuttle cover. Without it water can drain into the vehicle. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

Wow thanks for that speedy reply. Not sure how that migrated to under the engine.
I will have to take the wiper scuttle off and explore where it should be.

You won't need to remove the scuttle cover. I think there is only one on the battery side. If you look at the scuttle cover in the coner there are two small drain holes (probably blocked) the drain hopper is located below those holes, should be able to feel around or use a torch to see where it goes.

Thanks, I would never have found that.
Put the hopper back in place. Interesting that the drain holes you mention are not present. Not sure what that hopper will do as there are no holes above it.

There are about 6 drain holes in the scuttle panel, tiny drillings in places where water can collect if blocked (they are normally blocked), this rubber hopper goes below the most LH holes, behind the battery area below the scuttle. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.
