Hi, just after some help, need to replace the rear diff on a Freelander 2 I have just bought it is a 2010my with 67,000mls
Would just like to know any recommendations for a diff supplier and if I need to change the haldex at the same time.

Many thanks, spoke to Austen today nice chap, forgot to ask him if I need to get the Freelander reflashed or whatever you call it after I’ve had the diff replaced.
Just need to find somewhere to fit it now.

there is nothing electronic about the rear diff - its entirely mechanical Jules

No, that is all managed by the Haldex and brakes.

Make sure that they service the Haldex whilst you are getting the new diff fitted . It won’t add much to the cost , and it is the sensible thing to do . When I had the diff replaced on my 09 , I think the Haldex service added about an hours labour and fluids , can remember if the filter screens were cleaned or replaced , but all up it’s peace of mind for little money . 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

Yes going to get the haldex serviced also, just deciding wether to get the garage to refurb the diff or buy a reverb one from bell engineering or have also seen we are diffs do one, needs the timing belt doing also so will be getting a new water pump and alternator belt fitted.
Bought this thinking it would be a cheap shooting bus for next season but my wife has claimed it so it’s getting a bit more spent on it than I hoped.
Luckily it was relatively cheap with only 67,000 miles on it and the last owner has had it for over 10 years.

That’s what I used the FL2 for . With Scorpion All Terrains on it went anywhere a sane person would take it . Just one thing if you’re using it in the field , the wheel arches are absolute sods for trapping mud , particularly the rear ones .

Yes used to that situation with my navara, just spent an afternoon cleaning them out with a small wooden scraper and then pressure washed them with a 90 degree nozzle, going to renew the wheel arch trims and give them a good clean.

Bell Engineering uprated the nose bearing in the differentials that they refurbish. I believe that they are the only people that do this.
