Faulty EGR - Replace or map out?

I have a faulty EGR. See fault codes below and engine light on with issues driving. I already have a blanking plate in place.

Should I replace it with a new/refurbed part or should I have it mapped out - or both?

Does it need to be working correctly in the first place to map out without further ongoing issue?

Advice or other suggestions please

As a new EGR valve will cost less than having it mapped out, you might as well go for a new valve. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

The problem is not the cost of the part but the labour to replace it due to location Shocked

Can have it mapped out for around £200... which will hopefully also give me fuel economy, performance etc...

Pierburg EGR coming in at £170 - and would plan to fit myself. So more or less cost neutral...

If I go for the map, will it resolve the problem of the faulty EGR even though I leave it in there?

It's a few hours to replace it's true, having just done the cooler on mine which isn't exactly fun.

You'll need to speak to the person doing the mapping, as to whether a faulty valve will still log codes. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

Thank you sir!

Not too bothered if the code still flag - just as long as it drives without stalling and cutting out. I guess its whether i fix this problem via hardware or software?
