Crash status doesn't prevent the vehicle being started. You simply have to cycle the ignition a couple of times.
Pulling the key out the dock will cause dock failure, which will potentially prevent it starting. The key must be allowed to eject itself, or lots of expensive issues occur. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.
