Since the freezing weather my front parking sensors give an almost constant tone when reverse selected Almost constant because it sometimes stops for a few seconds. I have cleaned the sensors, sprayed them with WD 40 and blasted them with air. Still doing it. Don't really want to take the bumper off. But may have to. Any thoughts? |

A decent code reader will tell you which of the four is faulty. Could be the sensor, or could be the loom. Quite common to get increased resistance over time with damp getting into connectors and cables getting pinched/rubbing.

Thanks for that. I repaired the loom a few years ago. I suspect I will have get the bumper off if it doesn't dry itself out soon. I'll make up a new loom if it has gone again. |

I only have a basic multi car code reader. I may as well invest in a decent land rover specific one. £134.99 for the Icarsoft on Amazon . Is that the recommended one? |

I bought the ICARSOFT LR V3.0 (from LJM Car Diagnostics) - can't remember what I paid for it but it is currently £175. https://ljmcardiagnostics.co.uk/products/i...ostic-tool Whether or not it is better than its LR predecessors though? Presumably it is up-featured compared to them and it is easy to use for a complete biff like me which is probably not much of a meaningful recommendation. |

Bought the basic Icarsoft i930 no fault codes and although it shows distance for rear sensors , it does not have that option for front sensors. Does yours? |

Yes front and rear sensors are shown on my I930.

Hi, I can see the front sensors on the scanner but it is just the option to see the distance that is missing.

Sussed the scanner problem. Update the scanner straight onto the SD card. The front sensors were not showing up until I changed the car profile to a later model on the scanner . Now I can see that the front left shows 255mm distance all the time. Bumper off after Xmas. |

Ok bumper off and faulty parking sensor changed. All good but a slight increase in throttle speed increases the voltage by 0.1v and the news sensor distance reading decreases from 1.8 to 0.7 and tone becomes constant. Checked all wiring. If I change the new sensor to the opposite side the fault moves with it.

Was the replacement sensor a genuine part?

No not an original. I was going to send it back and order an original. But I tried swapping it with the dead one. Dead one is still dead and the fault is still present, just that now when I increase the revs one of the other sensors reacts by registering a decreased distance and triggering a constant tone.

I'm suspecting more than 1 sensor is faulty. I would have thought the PDC module will have voltage regulation, or a way to compensate for variables in system voltage.
