Has anyone had any experience of removing the DPF altogether?

I have just reread this thread and saw the need for 'LOW ASH' engine oil. I did not realise this and I do wonder how much trouble has been caused using substitute generic oil. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011) FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 77k+ miles) (MY2015) Metro in its 11th Year of (Extended) LR Warranty / Full LR Service History (Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?) |

Lots of info over on the Jaguar Forum regarding low ash oil and DPF's.......seems it's a "must"! Just started researching it myself as have just purchased a Jag with a DPF, a first for me. |

Depends want you mean by "substitute generic oil" If an oil meets the spec required for FL2s with DPFs then its OK (Ford 2C934-B SAE 5W-30 C1). Obviously using the wrong specification oil is not OK. Ive used Smith & Allan oils for years. Jules |
