Dont laugh but my recently purchased 2010 TD4 HSE has developed this annoying chirpy sound,it appears to be related to the radio, and gets worse when entering a built up area

Sounds like my radio reception issue on DAB. Quite frankly, DAB is in a car. The main issues are mainly the very poor general coverage, but DAB is fundamentally flawed from inception as the Government only allowed a very limited bandwidth (it could then very profitably sell the extra bandwidth to other users). That same restriction renders DAB radio useless if you are used to the wonderful dynamic range of the now 'old-fashioned' FM service when using a good receiver/aerial/HiFi at home - quite frankly it's hopeless.
