Was out the other night trying our Freelander in the Snow up near Aviemore last Thursday night, all was well and not really much snow to give her a challenge to be honest.
Onour way home i noticed i didnt have much power , no engine management light on , so i pulled over to have a look at what the problem could be.
I switched of the engine to be greeted with this

Had exactly the same fault on Wednesday. Took the car to my garage where they came up with same answer.
Cleared faults and been running fine. Not a big mileage so far.
Just fitted a new crankshaft sensor,genuine LR, a week before.
Also had to buy a new battery on Friday.
Fingers crossed . Haven,t done anything about the bank 1 sensor yet.

Started her up and proceeded to limp home. Now as i dont have a diagnostic for the Freelander yet, my neighbour had a carscan app on his phone with a OBD2 reader and we had about 4 pages of faults. He cleared those and the car ran fine for about 2 days. I purchased a cheap code reader and plugged it in to which i got this

Im assuming it needs a new sensor which is retailing between £40 and £60.
Ive tried to look online where this sensor is but nothing is coming up, can anybody point me to which part of the exhaust system this will be in?

As yours is a 2010 model, it will probably have a DPF. As mentioned above, should have two temperature sensors on the exhaust, one either side of the DPF. However as you are using a basic OBD reader, that code could be wrong. Now at the point when I learn something new something old is lost out the other side !
Now retired so it doesn't matter anymore.
Freelander now gone.

If you have a DPF there are two EGT sensors one pre cat next to the O2 sensor the other one on the front end of the DPF

Good reviews with the Icarsoft. I have the Icarsoft CR Max. Supposed to do most manufacturers etc. So far so good. Used it on Freelander, Renault and Citroen.👍 Now at the point when I learn something new something old is lost out the other side !

Ive got the Nanocom for the Discovery, an old Mac Scan that strreetwise basic code reader and an OTC

just had alok underneath the Freelander today to get a view of these sensors and i noticed the rubber hose had perished and worn away, so i guess this is the cause f it going into limp mode

Yes looks like it an easy fix

yes a piece of pipe 7mm ID and `12mm OD

ok i got some new pipe, was 8mm i d but got some jubilee clips to clamp the pipe on not fitted yet but the temporary repair and it hasnt gone back into limp mode.
