Just driven 500 miles with Restricted Performance warning sign - Wales to Scotland with little problems but frustrating on M74 hills! Booked in this Thursday for inspection- believe AA fitted blank plate on hose end - is this normal? |

You have an Sd4, they can't have a full egr blanking plate fitted, they need to have a small hole to allow some gasses to pass through otherwise you'll get restricted performance. This is the one for the Sd4:

Had my Egr valve replaced with new one and had blanking plate removed. Engine now seems to be permanently “hunting” for correct gear/revs and defo seems to have reduced power! Just had gearbox oil fully changed and software updates added to engine but still have hunting revs/gears! Any suggestions guys??? |

HI, Next job is to look at the Turbocharger Actuator in its box for stripped gears, then is the arm that pushes the turbo vanes seized with carbon?. You need to get it up in the air at the front, and take the offside wheel off and undershield and turbo pipe to get at it easily. While you are under the car have a look at the rubber turbo hoses for splits. When the EGr valve and turbo actuator give trouble, the overboost blows the rubber hoses, been their, fixed em! |
