FOB buttons haven't been working since I got the car. So far I have replaced the FOB battery, checked the trunk fuses (maybe i'm looking in the wrong place?) and inspected/swapped the RF Receiver. I did have this happen to one remote when I soldered in two new batteries. In my case, one battery was not properly soldered. You can also try cleaning the buttons on the circuit board with electronic contact cleaner.

I've tested the soldering points and the battery so those are fine. I'll try contact cleaner on the RF end and FOB buttons, but I have a hunch that won't do it. Does anyone know the related fuses? If the receiver is out of action it stores a code on the BCM. U201F for the receiver, then typically 87/P for "missing message" / "permanent"

Assuming you get U201F, look up the remainder of the code on this table to see what the fault type is

Hi, I had similar problems with a key. I changed the battery and covers, odd faults like unlocking and windows opening for no reason, boot lock not opening. Eventually, I looked at the key circuit board, and found a hairline crack radiating out from the small battery soldered terminal. After trying to repair the board, I bought a new key, and programmed it to the car. Everything now works fine.

well i finally got to the bottom of it.

jagracer - it seems you must be the closest. i didn't identify any hairline cracks, but a newly programmed fob worked just fine.
