Scotland 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Stornoway Grey
Beach bum

Photo of Freelander 2 on Beach at Gardenstown in Banff, North East Scotland.
1145pm, lady drove off the road landed upside down on beach. Rescue by police and locals and then arrested.
Probably one or two wee drams too many.
No injuries as far as i know. Tough as old boots these Freelanders.
Some of you will have been to Gardenstown and appreciate the narrow twisted access road.
If not look it up on Google.

If only they had some recovery gear onboard.

And there was someone on here recently after a rear brake light. That one looks ok.

The problem at that location is actually there is nothing at the edge of the road - just the drop into the sea. Like driving along the side of a dock but without bollards. Everyone can spread it - Anyone can catch it. Stay home - the life you save can be your own!

A bit like all the cars on the side of the road down under.

United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 Metropolis LE Auto Fuji White

I can see why from the photo on this BBC link.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-nor...d-63728999

Not much room on the road, even the Google camera car didn't attempt all of the road.

This is one of the reasons I traded the D2 as they collapse without falling over an edge. DAVE.

Navigator, it was quarter to twelve at night, she hit another car and was arrested after recovery.
And I have been there and Pennan. Very lucky it was a Freelander. Jim A

If the driver was arrested, it suggests there was drink or drugs involved, in which case the insurance won't pay for the Freelander, but the insurance will pay for any 3rd party losses, and the recovery too. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.
2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Gone.
2006 Tonga Green i6 HSE. Gone.
Audi A5 convertible, my daily driver.
