Found this on the floor of my FL2 2009, rolling around on the floor.

Any idea from where it came. It is about 8” long and the head fits flush into that collar shown. Has an allen head.

Ooops, nevermind. Thought it might be the driveshaft flange bolts but it's too long.

Are you sure it's not out/off of something you've had in the boot,
that's not related to the motor? DAVE.

It looks like the sort of bolt that you would use to secure something to the vehicle, for example a spare wheel, it's about the right length.

I found it in the join of the carpet under the passenger seat and thought it must have been there since I bought the car, but I have had a nagging feeling that it is familiar. Dave77's comment about it coming off something that has been ion the car triggered my memory and it is the fork retention bolt off my son's bike!! Thankfully it is not a drive shaft bolt or something that holds the seat together.

These forums help keep our two freelanders, discovery and range rover chugging along and now the bike. Very impressed.

I hope your son hasnt been cycling about with the stem and forks held to together by a rusting expansion plug thats not under tension any more. Jules
