In a bizarre incident yesterday I managed to somehow get the tread of my boot stuck on the clutch pedal, which then allowed the clutch to dump quite hard while pulling away quickly. This caused the engine to shudder in its mounts, causing the drive belt to contact the lower boost hose, slicing a nice hole in it.
The annoying thing is I only fitted this boost hose in June.
Looks like I'm doing to job again this weekend, if the new hose arrives in time. I've gone for silicon this time, although I could only find it in blue, at a price I was prepared to pay. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

I would also be considering replacing the engine mounts - if they have enough play to slice through a hose they sound like they are at the end of their useful life. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

You also need to be aware that the silicon replacement hose in that position is often about 20mm longer than the original. That in turn moves it even closer to the belt drive, making contact even more likely. (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. Statutory write off & on WOVR for hail damage but still road legal.

The new hose fitted better than the replacement without any trimming. And now the retaining strap is definitely fitted, the issue shouldn't happen again.

They have Britpart on the hoses and the box , although I can't imagine Britpart actually make them. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

Plan on fitting these myself to prevent future problems. Did you just get the intake side or have you replaced all 4? Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

A couple of questions regarding turbo hoses as Im servicing the car soon.

Are the silicone hoses better than the OEM ones?

Which hoses tends to blow most often ?
Is it worth replacing just that one at 60K miles (8 years old) in anticipation of it going pop soon or replace all 4, or just wait for a leak to appear? Jules

Where would you rather change a hose, wherever you do your servicing (hopefully a nice warm cosy garage, with the beverage of choice freely available), at a time of your choosing. Or wherever the hose blows and strands you in whatever the weather happens to be? You choose!
But saying that, 2007 FL2, 15 years old and hoses are still original.

I have fitted my hose at the weekend, and the car runs good again now.
My 80 mile round trip commute to work was a good test.

Not something I want to repeat for another 10 years, but I would be more confident and faster
if I had to do it again.

I think the most common one to go is the one on the throttle body at the front? all mine are original but check them at service time and so far they all look very good but???? you never know. 2013 FL2 XS.
