Bluetooth - suddenly stopped.

Hi.
My Bluetooth connection has been working fine up until yesterday, when suddenly the connection died on me during a call.
the problem is that now, when I try to re-connect, it recognizes my phone but then immediately disconnects.
Additionally, when I go to the menu (the car's phone menu) there is a padlock icon beside most of the menu functions and I can't access the functions. The only function which I can access is the bluetooth function, but it doesn't help.
I called the dealer and they told me that it may need a software upgrade, which I find strange as it worked fine until yesterday.
Anybody else had the same problem?? If so, is there an easy fix or does it have to go back to the dealer?

the padlocks appear when the car is in motion, have you tried looking whilst stationary.

If your stationary then it does sound like another software issue, like any software one minute its working then the next its not.

If you get access try deleting the phone and the car from the phone and start again Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Thanks for the reply,

Unfortunately the padlocks are showing when I'm stationary.

I was hoping there was some clever trick to rectify the problem but sadly it looks like another trip to the dealer.

you could try taking both the battery leads off, and then holding them together for 30secs (the leads, NOT the battery terminals) with the keys out of the iginition,

also let the car settle down and close off all its systems before you disconnect the battery (I think about 10 minutes standing)

Its what my dealer calls a Hard reset, Might save you a trip to the dealer Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Hi,
Car is booked into the dealer next Tuesday, so I'll give your suggestion a go at the weekend. I'll let you know if it works.
Thanks again!
