Later ones moved to switches for special functions and hill descent control.

Thank you both for your replies. I've ruled out one or two FL2's due to the lack of a knob!

I wouldn't rule one out because it has the push button selector, all the late models had this. Works fine. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Indeed, the buttons all work - just not so easy to use - but most people need them only rarely - so it wouldn't be a deal breaker for me. In fact, the later cars are actually the better ones IMO- the SD4 being the best (with its autobox) - but I'm biased. Jules |

Obviously, those blue, white & red colours look too neat! I have a MY13 petrol, often I have forgotten to press the buttons for sand etc & only later realised, actually the car works well in the normal driving mode. The hill descent is handy. Get an auto, great for crawling over rocks, towing & city driving. Hazard switch is easy to reach no matter which side of the car you are on. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device! Still quicker than putting a warning flag on the car.

Thanks you to all for responding. I feel happier now knowing the later models had buttons, does anyone know when they were introduced? I would prefer an auto but it's not a deal breaker for me. I'm currently considering 5 cars from 2011 to 2014 the only problem is the closest one is 150km away & 2 are 500km away so I need to get all the knowledge I can before I head off to view.

Pollen filter works perfectly ok. I have a piece of gutter open cell foam as a pre filter from the air intake near the battery.
