I would dispute that the pound is near parity but notwithstanding why has Petrol come down in price whilst diesel ticks up.

Its been suggested its due to early/extra demand for heating oil - which is very similar to diesel fuel.

When covid caused a drop in fuel prices, I bought 1000L of Kero for just 12 Pence per Litre + the VAT.

Said local BP petrol station is now showing a 30p differential. Even local Tesco had 27p differential. We really are being priced out of driving oil burners. This will lead into 2nd hand prices which will fall through the floor once the supply issue on new motors get sorted. MY 09 GS manual in Lago Grey, Wood Co arm rest and side bumper strips - now sold.

When you look at corporate profits and the cost of extraction and refining, you/me are being corporately gouged. Can't say I blame them but it's pretty obvious to anyone who cares to look at the entire picture. |
