You're right, Bob.
I run 265/60/18 and they catch the inner arch on full lock if it's bumpy - and that's with 25mm wheel spacers.
I think these came up because I was searching for a spare for my set and I posted on here in case anyone was running similar.
The 17"s will have about the same radius and width so spacers will be needed there too.
