Lost at sea?

Hi people,

Does anyone know who Land Rover use to transport cars overseas and how long it takes or if it does little tours around the globe? My car has been ordered, built and was waiting for transport, but now seems to have disappeared Shocked , and it is supposed to land here by May. Since it is painted Martinique Blue, I can understand how people would be immediately attracted to it, but if they wanted to steal one, why wouldn't they have taken a grey one? Laughing

I believe to have read somwhere that japanese cars to belgium take about 8 weeks to get there and It took about a week for my car to go from the importers to the dealers.

So you should expect a phone call that it arrived in the country after some 8 weeks if they call at all. Otherwise 9 weeks to the dealers. Add maybe 2 weeks as Australia is quite a large country and I donn't know which harbor it arrives. And maybe another 1 week just to be sure.

So you should have it within 10 to 11 weeks since they've built it.

When did you get it and what does 11 weeks mean as a date?

PS mine arrived a 10 days before the dealer said it would arrive so I was very happy!

It was completed round about the 20th March, and the dealership was expecting another couple of orders that had also been completed the previous day. As for when it was loaded, not sure - the dealer said they have nothing past that it was built.

So adding 10 weeks makes it end of may you should be driving your new car.
But maybe you should wait for an Australian member to confirm.

What timeframe did the dealer give you?

Thanks for the replies.

The dealer said that they couldn't give a delivery date since no one seems to know where it is.

The original date was late April, but that was before I had problems with the colour selection.

So, late May would be right, when you think that the build was March. Then the installation of the light pods.

Thanks for your help zone30!

And a Censored for Somalian pirates stealing the ship with my car on! Don't curse me AndyC!

Looks good. What wheels are those?

Mine came with the 19" wheels but I've been considering buying 4 more 17" steel spare wheels and fitting all terrains. I carry a gun because I can't carry a cop.
Ted Kennedy's car has killed more people than my gun.

But for me (also in Belgium): My original delivery date was 27 May. Then 10 June, then 5 June, then 12 June. But I'm away on business all that week - so would have to wait til 15th June! But I'm still pushing for 5th June - fingers crossed. But knowing some of the troubles and uncertainties for JLR workers, I can't complain.
