Take it back to the garage that originally did the work for you |

I supplied the garage with the PTU (https://www.lrparts.net/lr066503-front-differential-power-transfer-unit-ptu-for-freelander-2-and-evoque-mk-1-for-2-2-diesel-and-3-2-petrol.html) as they are not widely available here in Switzerland. They said that they have done similar jobs before and accepted it but they didn't gave any guarantee on the labor or parts. I went back to them and they can't pinpoint the problem. For them to diagnose it properly the'll have to disassemble the PTU again which will cost me quite a lot.. i hope i can find out if the problem lies with the TPU and is not a bearing or something in the gearbox.... |

If I was in your shoes I would call Austen at Bell Engineering. He is very friendly and helpful and will no doubt have an answer for you. |

Looks to me from the photos that you just need to renew the seal. I would try a better garage |

Thanks for your answer, do you mean A or D? The garage also changed the gearbox sleeve (LR002746) Last edited by Hangloose93 on 19th Sep 2022 8:28 pm. Edited 1 time in total |

Thanks, I've heard a lot of good things of him around this forum. I originally also wanted to buy the PTU from them. unfortunately they don't ship abroad. The strange thing for me is that the oil has to push through multiple seals as there is a seal on the left and right side of the PTU where the drive shaft is going through. |
