Are you sticking RON98 in the tank, if not, it may help. At least it is the simplest solution.

Lightwater i think the 05 TD4 was diesel not that i am up to speed on the FL1 . 2009 FL2 S now gone

If the actual model was indicated with avatar it would be clearer. But seeing it is USA & comment on pump & filter in the tank. It sounded more like a petrol engine even though TD4 was noted. The in tank pump & filter gets replaced about every 100k km from memory. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
