My fl2 had been sat for 3 months before my ownership and on my way from collecting it I washed off the screen with squirrels as you do.
Initially it was all good but as it started to rain a little I put on intermittent and noticed the wipers were not seat8ng properly between wipes. They’d go down to stop position then lift a little.
I asked other people and they suspected wiper motor, I have just fitted a new one and the people, still exists.
Does anyone have any ideas how to sort this.
I’m not a happy owner atm, and I also have to sort the airbag light that is also on

Sounds like the winter wiper park mode is activated. This will store the wipers in a slightly elevated position, I presume to prevent them collecting water and freezing.

On my 2013 Freelander I can enable/disable it from the onboard computer in the instrument cluster using the steering wheel arrow buttons. Not sure if you have the same vehicle generation. Freelander 2 XS 2013

Sounds like the winter park feature to me also, should be able to switch it off in the menu, but you seem to have established it isn't (mine is a 2014 so I'm unsure of the menu location for yours - or even if older FL2s had it!)

Did you buy from a dealer - if so the dealer should fix this & your airbag light...... has it been crashed & repaired? 2014 Freelander 2 TD4 Manual Dynamic

On mine it’s a case of turning ignition off and holding down wiper arm for a few seconds. As mentioned this just sets the wipers even higher on screen

Ah ok, it is all in the menu system with later models.

I wish it were that simple mate but by doing that the wipers would go off the bottom of the screen before they came back up
I’d post a vid but it seems this forum doesn’t have the facility

The earlier Freelander 2 only appears to have the service position
which changes back to default once ignition is switched back on,
the service position would place the blades at around 45 degrees,
below is the how to..
"1. Switch off the ignition.
2. Within three seconds of switching off the
ignition pull the wiper stalk down to the
single wipe position. Hold the stalk in this
position briefly, and release it"

Maybe a hard reset? DAVE.

If both wipers are sitting in the wrong place in the park position, as has been said, moving them on the splines isn’t going to do any good. There must be something wrong with the assembly of the lever system that connects the splined posts to the wiper motor under the cowl at the bottom of the windscreen.

I have replaced the wiper motor and the issue remains
