My 2012 hse had both mirrors that dipped in reverse and I personally found the feature useful when manoeuvring close to kerbs etc. Yes the position is stored in the ecu but the memory mirror is different from the standard mirror and it will remember the setting for whatever memory seat position in use at the time. When I changed to a DS HSE LUX I was disappointed to find that only the passengers side mirror dipped in reverse. |

Mine is a 2011 HSE. Maybe it was a option? |

I think the dipping passenger mirror is a helpful point if reversing near a high kerb (especially in some countries) or small bollards etc. One careless overturn of the steering wheel can result in an expensive body shop bill |

So you are 50cm away from the kerb instead of 49cm!
I use the driver's side mirror when reverse parking & when I see the gutter I turn the steering wheel the other way. Can almost do it blindfolded! No passenger side mirrors when I was a lad. Actually only today watched a young driver (probably first year) trying to reverse park in 3 different large spaces. I politely explained how to reverse park, they had never heard of it. I lived in Gran Canaria for a time. See the kerb mirror is an excellent feature there with the height of some of them. |

In the words of Woody Allen in Annie Hall “Don’t worry. We can walk to the curb from here” |
