WING MIRROR QUESTION

Hi, does anyone know if it,s possible to remove the plastic section behind the glass . Reason my n/s mirror is loose on it,s mount and i need to access the fixing screws, one of which you can see when you fold the mirror out. Nothing serious but when towing mirror fitted it vibrates. Thanks in advance.

2010 HSE Td4 auto.
My near side mirror is not dipping as far as it did before.
I have lubricated the mechanism with silicon spray after pushing them forward.
Both park perfectly . If I remove cover as above video does anyone think the tilt down mechanism needs more lubricant.
Thought the tilt down was odd at first but now find it helps reversing .

This is a diversion from the original question but I think you can change the dip position, if you set it while they are in dip mode then the position you set is remembered for next time. Also I think it remembers a different position for each remote keyfob, have you started using a different fob?

I didn’t know that I thought it was connected to which of the presets on the memory seats was operated.

You might be right, I have no personal experience as my car doesn't have memory seats, I read it on this forum somewhere!!

The preset mirror "dipping" positions need readjusted from time to time as they gradually lose the original position over a period of time. When in reverse adjust the mirrors to where you want them and they will go back to that position the next time you put it in reverse. You will need to do this every few months or so. Thumbs Up

Any chance the mirror has been changed at some point for a non memory one?

No idea if it was replaced before I bought it. It adjusts ok, just doesn't remember it on reverse!

I didn't think the driver's side had a reverse position to memorise? The memory is done in the seat module anyway, not the mirror.
I know the passenger side does on some models, thankfully not on mine, as I can't see any benefits in the mirror dropping to the rear wheels, but then I've been driving nearly 40 years. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

I did wonder if it was a setting just for the passenger side, and yes, it is set using the seat memory button.
