Somebody mentioned it might be due to the 40K VED tax rules, it’s a neat way to sneak a slightly over the bracket vehicle underneath the 40K limit, it’ll only affect a few vehicles (relatively speaking) but might make the difference between a buyer going for a slightly cheaper brand.

Who knows.

These options can still be bought outright at point of sale though, so if not bought might be a bonus for a secondhand buyer who wanted heated seats but the car wasn’t bought with them. Regards
