The road I live on isn't actually a road, just a long driveway to houses. It has no outlet and two almost blind bends. It was full of potholes and bumps that upset the BMW owners so funds were found for a resurfacing. Since then speeds have gone up dramatically - I'd say to around 30mph at times. So when I'm washing my caravan and will have to step out into the roadway at times I have my Land Rover parked on the road - and not tight to the kerb. Everyone can spread it - Anyone can catch it. Stay home - the life you save can be your own! |

Our small lane is private also and we had it resurfaced about ten years ago and at the same time we (the lane management committee) had small speed bumps put in, which actually coincide with each entrance and they also act as rain water dams to the separate homes drainage other wise it would all come straight down to us at the bottom! There is only five of them but what it does do is put off holiday makers who seeing any lane want to explore, that and a big sign saying “Private Road, No Turning at the Bottom” puts them off thankfully. Regards

It is a little lizard called the Perentie up to 2.5 metres long & 20kg & can do 25mph (40kph). They named a Land Rover after it, the perfect vehicle for modern day camping... 2 tonne payload!

Cyclists don’t have speed limits, they are not bound by normal road limits unless specified in local bylaws. That’s as far as I’ll comment Edit: I should add that they can be prosecuted for cycling furiously or wanton and furious cycling Regards David Lovely i6 has now gone, but not me...... Please let me know if anything in my post offends you, as I may wish to offend you again...... |
