Make hay while sun shines

Well either tomorrow or Saturday i have 150 bales of hay to collect from field.
This will be a job for the freelander and trailer (trailer takes about 25 bales).
First time i will have used freelander for such work and looking forward to it Very Happy
Anyone used theirs for such a job?
Any pictures??

There is a thread somewhere here with about 3 plus tonnes of gravel on a trailer. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

We do it year in year out ! A local farmer now bales our big field with his 0.5 ton round bailer. This leaves us with around 300-500 small square bales to get in with the Freelander and trailer.
The mk 1 never complained, the mk 2 is now on its 2nd year, and no complaints. Around 50 bales on a trailer. A real pita vacuuming it out after though!
Best of luck

Yes. Reevaluating the image gross weight looks like 4+ tonnes! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

First thing I checked before I bought my FL2, has it had a tow bar fitted 🤔 If it did walk away briskly 😂 chances are it’s had a hard life or it could have been in the sea 😩

I had not had the car long & got some second hand roof tiles for our block of units. First trip 120 tiles in the car. I packed them as far forward as possible. Layered up with old towels & tied down & around the front to the rear seat anchors. I drove very carefully choosing the best roads & avoid potholes. The car was perfectly happy.

Second trip was 150 tiles & the car was perfectly happy. Third trip was 180 tiles. The car felt a touch not happy, but now I put that down to the tyres. I think if I had my current all terrain tyres which are far more solid than the road tyres the car would have been perfectly happy.

The biggest issue was spending half a day cleaning out terracotta roof tile dust from the 3.2kg tiles. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

I could have taken some photos of ours today.

We picked up 160 bales, the Freelander took 44 stacked carefully in the horse trailer. The rest went on a big trailer behind the discovery. We've done many hay runs with the Freelander, we have a farm nearby which we get the 5 foot round bales from. Two of them fit nicely in the horse trailer, and last for a couple of weeks.
