Hum thats what i thought too! am just wondering whether anyone has experience on the downward force when loaded - whether its on the bottom or top.. |

It isn’t just the force when loaded. Acceleration, braking and even the vibration of a rough road surface will put varying loads on the mounting points. I’ve had both tailgate mounted and tow bar mounted cycle carriers and would go for a tow bar mounted carrier every time. |

@bossbob - on the back of that - i think i'll just take your advice and ditch the carrier for the thule tow bar mounted version.

I wanted to updated this post with some pics of the best interim solution - taking into consideration the manual and your opinions before i get the tow-bar setup.
