These are my starter motor connections. The one nearest the engine has had the plastic cover removed.

Also be very careful that you don't drop anything into the bell housing once the starter motor is out. Its easy to drop a nut and it bounces inside.

If the stud protrudes above the nut can you hacksaw a slot into it and insert a small flat head screwdriver to apply counter torque ? Jules |

Hi Jules yes it is the big one, ive just seen there is a nut at the bottom but appears to be behind these black plastic crenulations i think this is what's spinning and doesn't appears to be any breaks to allow a spanner to get around or am i being thick?
