LED H7 Highbeam.

Hi Guys

I have a xenon fitted headlight 2012 HSE Spec. Highbeam is H7 Halogen

I'm trying to replace this H7 bulb with a LED one but I'm facing an issue on how to fix this LED bulb in its housing and prevent it from moving.

With the Halogen bulb, the power supply black plastic is also the way to fix the bulb in the housing and prevent it from moving.

when using the Led bulb, this fixation function of this black plastic part cannot be used anymore,

Any idea please ?

You can buy a pair of clips which hold the lamp in the reflector, then the original connector/clip is just used as a connector, remotely from the clip.

They're cheap too, at under £5 on ebay. Wink

I'm thinking about the same LED conversion, but haven't found any that match the brightness or beam accuracy of my Osram Rally 65 Watt bulbs in there now. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

The beam pattern hot spot is quite large, even at that short distance, compared to the other side. So although the light output appears greater here, it could well spread out and dissipate before it provides useful light way down the road.

Out of curiosity, what LED lamps are you using for the photo? Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

I will tape the bulbs and try them tonight… if they work fine I will order these bulbs holders.
If not I will go for some descent halogen ones.

Those won't last. They've no cooling fan to take the heat away, so life will be limited.

Do they work ok at distance? Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

If a globe doesn't have this light pattern, chuck it in the bin. You will not have any worthwhile light where it is needed https://www.freel2.com/forum/topic29503.html Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

He never came back to say how he got on.
However in my experience, no current LED bulb makes a worthwhile replacement for a good quality halogen bulb, when the reflector designed for halogen.
LEDs in halogen reflectors are now an MOT fail too. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.
