Well I can confirm that it is easy to replace the filter with a standard 1/2" ratchet and socket.

I don't understand how that is possible. 🤔 There is simply no way my socket and ratchet will fit to take of the oil filter cap. I tried repeatedly before giving up and ordering the ratchet spanner.

Got to agree, I shredded many sets of gloves and my knuckles trying to get the filter out using spanners until I bought the flexy head ratchet ring spanner. There was no-way a socket, let alone a ratchet and socket was going to get into that space.

It did make me wonder if there are some differences.

Hi, only thing I think NEEDS to be added to this is "ON Your Car" ![]() as got it agree with what others have said already and our 2013 you could Not get a socket and ratchet between the filter head and the fans, never mind undue it a bit and then take it off, the fans had to be lifted out of the way to even put a socket on (no spanner ![]() The filter change is straight forward with the Correct tools you just need to check WHAT the correct tools are for your car before doing it ![]() ![]() well done for doing it, hope you put the correct Spec oil in for your car and not just any 5w-30 gearbox oil change next its only about £12 and even easier ![]() my first ever FL2 and I did keep it longer than most other cars! But its now gone way up Norf |

Is it possible for anyone to photograph the gap between the filter housing and the fan?
