Some bits from the Evoque seem fit the Freel2, but some bits would need to be made to fit from a kit, or OE stuff, or a combination of both. I personally wouldn't bother with a power tail gate, after owning 2 cars with them equipped. They're slow, and I would waste my time waiting for it to open or closed. Even worse, when the boot was loaded to capacity, the tail gate would touch whatever is in the boot and pop open again. The only benefit I had, was your hands didn't get wet if it was raining. Completely pointless option in my opinion, unless you're the type of person that wants to appear flashy. I certainly wouldn't waste money having it retrofitted to a Freelander 2, where the tail gate is quick and easy to open and close. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Gone. 2006 Tonga Green i6 HSE. Gone. Audi A5 convertible, my daily driver. 1972 Hillman Avenger GT, the project. |

I was in & out of the boot today a dozen times & conscientiously took note of the difficultly of opening the tailgate. By chance my Sister was here with her electric everything Evoque (the Freelander is much nicer) & I had a few goes with the tailgate.

Not a fan of electrical boot after an incident!! Wish the Freelander had a split boot door though. If it wasn't so bad it'd be funny.

Watched a resent YouTube video regarding electric tailgate. A fault in the tailgate module kept several of the interior modules live at all times, even when the car was locked. Result was battery drained in two hours. Quite a parisitc draw |
