Get one that you clip onto the battery like ARB https://www.arb.com.au/air-compressors-tyr...mpressors/

I’ve been using this on a weekly basis for a year now as the alloy is corroding inside the wheels and all have slow leaks it’s never missed a beat after going through 3 battery inflators that all failed at some point.

Most manufacturers only state maximum PSI at zero air flow & maximum air flow at zero PSI, all a bit meaningless to say the least.

I've got one just like that, had it for over 15 years and used it a lot when i went off roading, still works well. Common sense isn't very common. _______________________________ 2007 Land Rover Freelander2 I6 hse Auto |

Every time you inflate a tyre you keep adding water.

I still have a second air tank but don't know where to shoehorn it into the car. It was going to be next to the first one but changed my mind & went for a third compressor. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

All these cheap pumps watch their duty cycle or you will cook it. They wouldn't be more than 25% so 5 minutes on 15 minutes off. My ARB compressors only have a 50% duty cycle, 10 on 10 off.

For topping up the pressures (rather than filling four sets of desert tyres as Lightwater does ) I recently bought the hand held Bosch pump and compared to the other two handheld cheap pumps I have bought previously on eBay/Amazon the Bosch pump is brilliant, so compact and the battery holds the charge seemingly forever! and it’s tiny in comparison.

You could parallel all 3 pumps. Put the wife & kids on them, & you can monitor the pressure increase!
I have a bike vertical hand pump. Even to top up tyres it is exhausting. There is about 65 litres volume in one of my tyres. Hand pumps get hot at the end of the cylinder & then lose their effectiveness. Pour water over the end of the cylinder. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device! In the end I bought a Ring RTC1000 - seems to be fine for checking pressures and topping up which is all I was really looking for. Thanks any way everyone. |
