I nearly traded it in.

Hi, my first post and it's simply to praise my FL2.

I have owned my car since 1st March 2008 and almost traded it in against my latest purchase which I pick up 1st June.
Truth is it's been such a loyal servant I simply can't part with it, it's a part of me and the family as we have shared so many happy times and memories, I/we have never felt the same about any car before. I guess I will keep it for as long as it is repairable no matter the cost, which means it will probably out live me. Laughing

During the 14 plus years of ownership I can honestly say this has been an amazing vehicle, I tow a caravan all over the UK, and have been doing this since purchased new, I don't know it's on the back most of the time, plenty of power to do all that's been asked of her.

One very, very pleased owner!

The trade in value is likely to be so low now, that you might as well keep it. I would.

If it continues to do everything you need, and not be a liability, there's nothing to lose. Thumbs Up Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.
2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Gone.
2006 Tonga Green i6 HSE. Gone.
Audi A5 convertible, my daily driver.
1972 Hillman Avenger GT, the project.

Welcome to the forum.
I take a slightly different view but with same outcome Shocked
Keep the vehicle as long as possible and offset the co2. Also, this vehicle is free (presumably) as you owe nothing on it so in todays energy price maelstrom you are not adding financial burden, even trade ins will still leave you out of pocket. You know the vehicle and what has been done/needs doing where as this is always a gamble on another purchase.
And...better to have something you/family have grown to love and have enjoyed.

Hi, to be honest I paid cash from new and took the view that if it gave me 12-15 years of good service I would be more than happy, trade in is £5,500 as it is in very good condition, fortunately I am able to hold onto it and will use it as a second car and enjoy it for what it is.
