I am 67 this year and I paid £166.15

I do expect it to rise with old age but not as yet, I thought maybe if I reach 70 it will be higher, personally I do not expect to be here at 80, if so, not driving Bow down Bow down

Chips :- mileage 4000 excess £645 . . . . .any bump now and its written off, its only worth about £1500

only done 14,000 miles in 6 years even though I love the car and driving it. spent way too much more on repairs than fuel which should not be the case with a nice car really . . . 2017 SEAT Ateca 4drive 2.0 xcellence (May 2022 -

Thanks for answering, I did wonder why your insurance cost is so low.

Article below suggests older drivers are not very popular on the roads!

Half of UK drivers would like to see older motorists banned from the roads - with compulsory retests at 60, claims study

"For instance, it is known that younger drivers (aged 17-21) are three to four times more likely to be involved in accidents than elderly drivers."

But it doesn't define "elderly".
If say its 65 to 85 - then that's 5 times the age range for 17-21 drivers. So depending on how you look at it, the 17-21 group are actually 15 to 20 times more likely to involved in accidents. Isn't it time there were more limits on this dangerous group of drivers.
Some countries do; like no driving between certain times, zero alcohol/drug tolerance. Jules

I've just passed 80 and my insurance (Saga Fully Comp+) is £678 pa. 20+ years of No Claims. (3 year Medically Tested Driving Licence)
The good news is that I can still get a LR Courtesy Car until I'm 85. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 77k+ miles) (MY2015)
Metro in its 11th Year of (Extended) LR Warranty / Full LR Service History
(Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?)

Final outcome.
Direct line gave me a renewal quote of £352, not bad.
Spoke to them and managed it down to £326.
So just accepted their price and settled.
House insurance next month, Road tax last month, never ends does it
