Haldex Gen4 input flange nut & seal ?where to put seal

I need to get the large input drive flange off my Gen 4 haldex in order to remove the haldex pump (I know its not necessary on other haldex units)
Its retained with a nut (LR076676). As it is torqued up to 130nm I was going to use a new one.

But this single nut comes with a seal and so is about £25 to £40 depending on source Shocked

The JLR manual makes no mention of a seal when reinstalling the drive flange - just says use a new nut.

Where does the seal go ?
Is a new seal required each time the flange is removed?
Can you get the nut without a new seal ?(probably not) Jules

I managed to remove my Gen 4 pump without removing the flange I did this by rotating the pump about 180 degrees after taking the two 4mm allen screws out and cleaned up the end of the pump casing with coarse wet n dry so it "just" cleard the flange, I would imagine any seal would go behind the nut as same as Defender output nuts ??? 2013 FL2 XS.

Did mine on Friday. Re used the nut. Impact driver spun it off easily. Flange tapped off easily, didn't need to used pullers. It's not a nyloc nut so I'd no issues reusing it. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

There's no need to remove the drive flange from the Haldex to get the pump off. It's a tight fit, but the pump will come off without removing the flange.
There just enough of a gap between the pump and flange, to allow the pump to clear the casing so it can be removed.

@Rommel @Nodge
Unfortunately, yes there is because my Gen 4 has a much larger flange than yours. Rolling Eyes
Just compare my pics with yours in relation to the pump and flange

Too right, its a PITA. And it makes such a difference - NOT.

So anyone know anything about why the nut and seal are not sold separately ?

I find it odd. You can buy a crankshaft bolt without a crankshaft oil seal. Jules

Bell Engineering tell me that the seal is the haldex pinion seal.
Why it comes with the nut I dont know.
However, both the original nut and seal are reusable - with new thread lock on the nut of course and that's what I'm going to do. Jules
