There's no need to remove the Gen 4 Haldex for the service. Just remove the front mount, and allow the diff assembly to drop at the front, just enough so you can access the filter. The pump is a squeeze, but it comes out without removing the drive flange from the Haldex.

I wouldn't go removing whole Haldex, it's a 30 minute job leaving it in place. I'd avoid removing the prop bolts, as they need replacing, which is just an added unnecessary work and expense, on what is a pretty straightforward service. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

@Nodge My 2014 FL2 has a huge drive flange. Its impossible to get the pump out without taking the flange off.

Once you have everything disconnected it's only 4 bolts holding the haldex in anyway. I reused the propshaft bolts last time to no ill effect. Probably easier to work at it off the car anyway. I chatted with Austen at Bell Engineering this week - they take the haldex off too. When you consider the price of the service kit & O ring, his labour charge is very reasonable and his does the full service, not just the filter and oil.

I'll change the PTU and rear diff lubrication at the same as servicing the haldex, and also see how the sub frames are holding up - I waxoxled them last time I did the haldex. Jules

Jules have you done the mod to add drain plug to diff and ptu or just siphoning out?
What grade oil are you using for the ptu? I have the correct oil for the diff, can't remember grade off top of my head 80/90 or something similar but seem to remember the ptu needs something different? Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

I did the rear diff drain mod but didnt bother doing the PTU.
I have a Pela pump to suck the oil out and found once I got a narrow tube down inside it, the oil came out quite easily. Jules
