that is the very point.

I think I am correct in saying ....FL2 never came with electric tailgate on any model / variant.

the mechanism to do this comes from the Evoque.

The Alibaba website does electric tailgate kits for loads of different models including the Freelander (About $260) and they also have the kits for fitting the "gesture" handsfree opening. I bought the gesture kit to upgrade my early model DS which had electric tailgate but did not have the gesture opening until a year or so later. Thumbs Up
