Lower dash panel removal

After removing the hex head self tapping screw how do I go about removing the lower panel under the dash.
It's the one forward of the centre console.
Haynes book says remove screw and pull inwards...
Don't want to break anything...
Thank you.

In 'The service manual' 300MB file there are diagrams forward & backwards around page 2295. There are diagrams closer to the front of the manual, I have forgotten the page, for gear stick surround removal.
