Are you doing lots of short journeys? The ECM monitors the vehicle usage, and prompts a service based on the driving being done, taking everything into account.

I got it wrong the first few times. Print it off & highlight the key moves otherwise it is easy to make a mistake. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

I change my oil at 10k mile intervals obviously before the car thinks it needs a service, did it this morning actually. My service due message will come on at some stage in the next few thousand miles and I'll just delete it using one of the methods on here. Never had an issue. Just tried the steering wheel method again, took a few goes but it has now cleared. I'll see how it goes and if it comes back again I think.

Used to change my older diesels at 6k miles but with quality fully synthetic oil im happy at 10k, 2/3 of landrover's 15k interval. Just turned 90000 miles . Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Just done mine with Shell Helix courtesy of Europarts...had an easter discount code so it was Half Price so not much more than a decent bottle of whisky !!! |
